Employee Assistance Programme Caritas
The Employee Assistance Programme Caritas introduced this programme in local industries in 1992. The programme is tailor-made to the needs and culture of the respective company.

Through EAP, Caritas helps employees and their families resolve job-effecting problems, irrespective of their position in the Company.

It aims to create awareness among employees regarding substance misuse and other social problems that could affect their personal and social lifestyles and their work performance. It also helps the employees identify, assess and resolve their problems through timely interventions of professional support.

Schools
Caritas has been a constant presence in schools conducting social awareness programmes since 1987. After adequate training of one staff member in Help the Aged (UK), a programme about the elderly was launched in 2 primary schools.

Along the years the Programme was modified to also include personal growth education and life skills. This new programme was called "Be A Winner for Life." In 1997, Caritas felt the need to include the secondary students and a programme "Celebrate life" was launched in October 1997.

Parenting Skills
With its experience working with drug users, Caritas felt the need to form and inform parents of children and youngsters in the tough job of raising children. Sessions of Parenting Skills delivered to not more than 7 couples are held in parishes and schools regularly.

Youths
In June 1986, a Youth for Drug Free Youth Group was set up made up of about 60 youths between 18 and 23 years, who were trained to extend the Prevention Programme to other youths in schools, at work, at leisure and in the community.

They offer support to other youths and through the organisation of activates offer leisure alternatives to drugs.

Weekend Seminars
Weekend seminars for fifth formers are held during the scholastic year. These are intensive life skills sessions delivered by highly trained PSE professionals.

Conferences
This unit within Caritas organises various national conferences and fora for parents of young people and educators who have young people at heart.
